THREE SCHOOLS – ONE VISION
Castlemont Community Transformation Schools (CCTS) is committed to improving educational outcomes as a primary strategy to establish a high quality cradle to career pathway designed to meet the needs of children in the Castlemont Community.
CCTS will create a family of community schools offering the highest-quality educational services and wrap-around support to children and youth from cradle to career. Over the next two years, CCTS will open a primary and middle school enrolling for Transitional Kindergarten (TK), Kindergarten, 1st and 6th grades in Fall 2015, and adding additional grades each year.
Through an innovative partnership with the Oakland Unified School District, the primary and middle schools will be directly aligned with Castlemont High School. Using one instructional vision and culture, these three schools form a cradle to career continuum, beginning with early education and ending with career pathways.
We believe that the teaching and learning conditions at Castlemont High School can drastically improve by being co-located with a primary and junior academy. As three schools co-locate on one campus, students are able to access full-wrap around services including health resources, extended-day programming, and extracurricular activities. We believe that Castlemont High School can become the first high school of choice for youth in the Live/ Go area of the Castlemont Community.
